Client will not launch on schedule
Possible Causes:
The Client is running in Application Mode (not Services Mode) and the workstation is logged out or locked. The Remote Backup Client can operate in two modes on Windows NT, XP, 2000, and 2003.
It installs by default in Application Mode, which is the “normal” mode most programs use. In Application Mode the Client software runs only when an authorized user is logged into the computer. On Windows NT 4 the Client scheduler may also stop running if the screen is locked, depending on Windows settings.
In Application Mode the Client may unload and reload when users log out and back in. It may run for some users but not all, depending on how you install it.
Application Mode is desirable in many cases, especially when you want the Client to run only when a particular user is logged in, or when ANY user is logged in, but not when they are not.
In Services Mode the Client runs all the time regardless who is logged in, and it even runs when nobody is logged in. In Services Mode the Remote Backup Client software starts before the login screen is displayed.

The Client is running in Application Mode on a computer being accessed through Terminal Services. Terminal Services is a way to log into a Windows computer from a remote location. When you start a new Terminal Services session you log into the computer more or less like you would at the console. If the Remote Backup Client is running in Application Mode, it may start then, and when you log out of Terminal Services, it will stop.
Run the Client as a Service if you want it to run all the time.
The computer’s date and time might be off. Check the clock to make sure it is set to the proper date and time.
The schedule might be running, but a backup isn’t done because a backup isn’t needed. If you are using an Incremental backup set, and no files have changed since the last backup, the Client software will launch at the proper time, but may not contact the Server because it has nothing to send.
